Richmond House Update

Cllr Craig Timmins and I received a briefing yesterday on plans for the former Richmond House site.

As reported previously, following the previous consultation the council had taken on board concerns with the design and massing, and had enlisted a new architect to work on a whole new approach for the building.

These designs are nearly completed so as we requested a further informal public session will be held in February to allow people to view and comment on these.

Letters will be sent out to nearby residents in early February providing further details and inviting them to the session.

As previously, we welcome the proposed use of the site for affordable housing – providing more opportunities for local people to have affordable houses to stay within the village, close to their friends, family and support network and the area they call home.

Craig and I have welcomed the team responding to the feedback around design of the property, and would encourage residents to continue to have their say – especially those who live in the immediate area.
