Brown bin garden waste collections will be springing back into action from Monday 23 March

The service is provided at no extra charge to help households manage their garden waste and to reduce the amount of garden waste going in the black bin.

If you have larger amounts of garden waste or excess garden waste that doesn’t fit in your brown bin, this can be taken to any of the council’s eight household and recycling centres which are open all-year round, seven days a week.

The council delivers the largest garden waste collection by any council in the UK, with around 30,000 tonnes of garden waste collected annually from over 220,000 households across the city. The waste collected is composted locally and across the region and used in farming, horticulture and local land restoration projects.
