Calverley Bridge Leak

The Canal & River Trust will be digging a deep trench in the grass verge along the tow path over the next few days to try and find the source of the leak. All test so far have proved inconclusive and it is hoped this invasive work will finally help. If they find the source, the budget also includes infilling with clay to seal the path the water is taking.
This will mean a temporary closure of the towpath, with the diversion going through Calverley Bridge. The engineer say this should take a few days with it being open again by the weekend. Any enquiries can be directed to them on enquiries.yorkshirenortheast@canalrivertrust.org.uk
Big thank you to local residents that have continued to work with Cllr Peter Carlill, and I over a long period of time to get action taken on this.
